Youngkwon Kim was born in Pohang, South Korea. He attended and completed his B.S. in 2014, and his M.S. in 2016 at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) under the guidance of Prof. Bumjoon Kim. His department was biomolecular chemical engineering. When he was in a master course, he studied and published papers about polymer solar cells through synthesis of fullerene derivatives and device fabrication. Now, he continues his doctoral work under same PI. His recent research interests are in the synthesis of conjugated polymer based block copolymers and their solution assembly. (ACS AM&I 2018, 9, 2933) He has started a research study in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, Santa Barbara under Professor Craig J. Hawker since May 2018 as a visiting researcher sponsored by Korean government fellowship.
