Undergraduate Institution: University of California, Los Angeles
Ronnie attended University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and got his B.S in Chemistry-Material Science with an emphasis on organic material. During the school year, he worked in the Garcia-Garibay lab synthesizing solid state molecular rotors with permanent dipole for optoelectronic application. During the summer he interned in the Hawker group as a UC LEADS scholar and help develop a new avenue for 3D printing. He also did a second summer internship in the Netherlands under the guidance of Bert Meijer. There he manufactured liquid crystal actuators for application in sensors and solar-harvesting.
In Fall 2019, Ronnie returns to UCSB as a joint PhD student between Professor Craig Hawker and Javier Read de Alaniz in the Chemistry Department.
Ronnie is currently working on degradable 3D printed polymer networks.
