Takuya Murakami

Visiting Researcher
Bio:

Taku was born in 1984, and grew up in Kyoto, Japan. He completed his B.Sc. in 2006 and his M.Sc. in 2008 at Kyoto University, where he had studied organoboron conjugated polymers by hydroboration polymerization and through-space conjugated polymers based on [2.2]paracyclophane under the supervision of Prof. Yoshiki Chujo. He then joined JSR Corporation and had worked on synthesis of aromatic block copolymers and fabrication of polymer electrolyte membranes for fuel cell. Taku has started his research study in the group of Prof. Craig Hawker since September 2013 as a visiting researcher.

Research:

His research interests are in the area of synthesis of functional materials using “click chemistry”, such as poly(alkyleneoxide) block copolymer hydrogel and catechol-functionalized poly(dialkylsiloxane) resin.
