Taegon Kang received his B.S. and M.S. degree in Chemistry from Hanyang University, Korea. He went to the Samsung to research polymer blend and composite. He jumped to United States to do his doctorate study in the Materials department with Professor Craig Hawker in the fall of 2007.
Initially, Taegon developed synthetic procedures for the preparation of polymer nanoparticles via intramolecular collapse of linear polymers and the functionalized dendrimers using thiol-ene ‘click’ chemistry. His current research examined the synthesis of biomedical adhesives based on catechol units.
