Neil graduated from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering with specializations in photonic, biomedical, and nanostructured materials along with a minor in mathematics. Neil’s undergraduate research was carried out in the lab of Laura Fabris and focused on the synthesis and surface chemistry of plasmonic gold nanoparticles with a focus on ligand exchange dynamics on nanorod surfaces. Neil was named a Malcolm G McLaren scholar three consecutive years as well as being named a JJ Slade scholar for his work as a research assistant.
