Michael Dimitriou graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS in Materials Science and Engineering. As an undergraduate Mike worked alongside Prof Francesco Stellacci on the synthesis and characterization of gold nanoparticles. In his free time he swam competitively for MIT’s varsity swim team. Mike was born in Massachusetts but spent the majority of his childhood on the island of Cyprus until coming back to Boston for College.
Mike’s current research is a joint project between the Hawker Group and Prof Ed Kramer’s Group. His work focuses on the synthesis and characterization of different types of of end-functional poly(2-vinylpyridine) and their segregation characteristics in poly(2-vinylpyridine) homopolymers.
