Johannes Willenbacher

Visiting Student
Bio:

Johannes studied Chemistry at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he received his diploma in 2012. During his undergraduate studies he investigated the end-to-end distance of hydrogen bond induced self-folding polymers under the supervision of Prof. Christopher Barner-Kowollik. He then joined the macromolecular chemistry group around Prof. Barner-Kowollik to conduct his doctoral studies, with the goal to develop and characterize novel methods of folding/collapsing single polymer chains into soft nano-objects.

Research:

Johannes is developing new methods of folding/collapsing single polymer chains into soft nano-objects for the potential use in nano-medicine or catalysis.
